1.    Yohimbine with Green Tea Extract

Although we usually recommend Green Tea Extract as a great dietary health supplement, it may not be a good idea to use these two substances together. Yohimbine and Green Tea Extract are two powerful substances that have a number of potential interactions.[1]

The effects of combining Yohimbine with Green Tea Extract have not yet been sufficiently studied to draw proper conclusions. However, because of the possible interactions, we’d recommend using these two supplements at least a few hours apart. You can learn more about Green Tea Extract in our great blog post here!

2.    Yohimbine with Pre-Workout

Taking Yohimbine with pre-workout supplements is also usually not recommended, although many people do it anyways. Pre-workout supplements often contain an unknown combination of caffeine, taurine, creatine, and other herbal supplements.[2]

Some contain other substances that may have negative interactions when used together with Yohimbine. In fact, we’d recommend staying away from pre-workouts in general due to their often mysterious mixture of compounds and the lack of solid evidence that they actually work.

3.    Yohimbine with Food

Yohimbine works best when taken on an empty stomach. Taking Yohimbine with food increases the length of time until you’ll feel its effects and it also lowers its uptake in your stomach. This means that you could take a powerful dose of Yohimbine but not feel any effects if you take it with food. Researchers found that the amount of food in your stomach greatly affects the uptake of Yohimbine.

Yohimbine has a very short onset time of around 30 minutes. So, if you can manage to wait, we’d recommend taking Yohimbine at least around 30-45 minutes before eating, or a few hours after a meal. This should improve the effectiveness of this powerful aphrodisiac and energizing supplement.[3]

4.    Yohimbine with Caffeine

We do not recommend taking Yohimbine with Caffeine unless you use a much lower dosage than usual. The reason for this is that Yohimbine may increase the concentration of neurotransmitters in your brain like epinephrine and norepinephrine.[4]

This results in a strong stimulant-like sensation when you use Yohimbine. Since caffeine is also a powerful stimulant, taking the two together may result in unwanted negative side effects. It is possible to be over-stimulated and the results are not nice. Rather use these two compounds a few hours apart from each other to avoid potential side effects.

5.    Yohimbine with Alcohol

Lots of people ask about using Yohimbine with alcohol. There has not been a lot of research into the interactions between alcohol and Yohimbine. However, there have been at least a few cases of people using Yohimbine with alcohol who experienced some negative side effects.[5] Combining Yohimbine with alcohol may be dangerous to your health and is not recommended.

6.    Yohimbine with L-Arginine

At least one clinical study has shown that combining Yohimbine with L-Arginine may be a useful synergistic stack. L-Arginine is a common amino acid that is important for blood flow and circulation as well as supporting healthy nitric oxide (NO) levels in your body.

The study, conducted on forty men with erectile dysfunction, indicated that using Yohimbine with L-Arginine may be beneficial to support male sexual health and vitality.[6]

Conclusion

In summary, Yohimbine is a powerful stimulating aphrodisiac supplement that can interact with a number of substances. Due to its potent effects and potential interactions, most scientists and researchers do not recommend combining Yohimbine with other supplements. Combining Yohimbine with stimulants, alcohol, or medication may be harmful to your health.

Please speak to your doctor before using Yohimbine with other substances, especially medications or stimulants. Yohimbine may have a synergistic relationship with the amino acid L-Arginine in promoting sexual vitality and libido.
